Patek Philippe Calatrava 5075G/021 “Moyen Age”
The Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 5075G/020 “Moyen Age” is an exceptionally rare example of Patek Philippe’s celebrated Rare Handcrafts (Métiers d’Art), combining traditional Grand Feu cloisonné enamelling with the timeless proportions of the Calatrava1
Crafted in 18K white gold, the 36mm case frames an elaborate cloisonné enamel dial inspired by medieval (“Moyen Age”) ornamental motifs. Its rich colours and intricate detailing showcase the traditional enamelling techniques for which Patek Philippe’s Rare Handcrafts creations are renowned.
A Rare Patek Philippe Enamel Calatrava
Rare Handcrafts watches occupy a distinctive position within Patek Philippe collecting. Rather than focusing on mechanical complications, these pieces celebrate traditional decorative arts and the specialist artisans who preserve them.
The Ref. 5075G/021 is particularly appealing for its combination of an artistic enamel dial with a restrained white-gold Calatrava case, allowing the craftsmanship of the dial to remain the centrepiece of the watch.
Inside is Patek Philippe’s renowned Calibre 240, an ultra-thin self-winding movement distinguished by its off-centre 22K gold micro-rotor. The movement has become closely associated with many of Patek Philippe’s most elegant and artistic creations.
