Patek Philippe 5077/100R-001 “Peacocks”
The Patek Philippe Ref. 5077/100R-001 “Peacocks” is an exceptionally rare creation from Patek Philippe’s celebrated Rare Handcrafts collection, combining Grand Feu cloisonné enamelling, mother-of-pearl and diamond setting within an elegant 18K rose-gold Calatrava case.
Created as part of Patek Philippe’s 2012 Rare Handcrafts collection, the watch is distinguished by its spectacular peacock motif, rendered through one of traditional watchmaking’s most demanding decorative techniques.
Grand Feu Cloisonné Enamel Peacock Dial
The dial is created using approximately 60cm of fine gold wire, carefully shaped to form the outlines of the peacock and its intricate plumage.
At least 12 different enamel colours and paints are applied within these tiny gold compartments before the dial undergoes a minimum of 12 separate kiln firings. The complete enamelling process requires approximately 45 hours of work.
The resulting composition is enhanced by a mother-of-pearl background, giving the peacock dial remarkable depth, colour and iridescence.
Antiquorum documents these same production details for Ref. 5077/100R-001.
Diamond-Set Rose Gold Calatrava
The artistic dial is framed by a 38mm 18K rose-gold case set with diamonds across the bezel and lugs.
A total of 141 diamonds weighing approximately 1.109 carats are set across the watch and its matching rose-gold buckle, adding another traditional craft to an already exceptional Rare Handcrafts creation.
Patek Philippe Calibre 240
Inside is Patek Philippe’s celebrated Calibre 240, an ultra-thin self-winding movement distinguished by its off-centre micro-rotor.
The Calibre 240 has been used extensively across some of Patek Philippe’s most elegant and artistically significant watches, allowing the Ref. 5077/100R-001 to retain classical Calatrava proportions despite its automatic movement.
