The Audemars Piguet Jules Audemars Jumping Hour Minute Repeater Ref. 26151OR.OO.D002CR.01 is an exceptional example of the manufacture’s traditional high-complication watchmaking, combining two distinctive complications within a classical 43mm rose-gold case: a minute repeater and jumping-hour display.
Introduced in 2007, the model brought together two areas with deep roots in Audemars Piguet’s history. The jumping-hour mechanism replaces the conventional hour hand with a digital aperture at 12 o’clock, instantly advancing to the next hour every 60 minutes, while the minute repeater acoustically indicates the time on demand through a sequence of hours, quarter-hours and minutes. Contemporary coverage of the launch described the watch as combining two of Audemars Piguet’s specialist complications.
At its heart is the manually wound Audemars Piguet Calibre 2907, operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour. The highly complicated movement comprises 457 components and 35 jewels and provides approximately 72 hours of power reserve. Its traditional haute-horlogerie finishing includes perlage, Geneva stripes and hand-finished components visible through the sapphire crystal caseback.
Despite its mechanical complexity, the dial remains remarkably restrained. The white opaline dial features elegant blue Arabic numerals, central minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock and the jumping-hour aperture positioned prominently at 12 o’clock. The result is a complicated watch that retains the classical character associated with the Jules Audemars collection.
