Patek Philippe 5070P-001 Chronograph
The Patek Philippe Ref. 5070P-001 is one of the most significant modern Patek Philippe chronographs, combining a substantial 42mm platinum case, distinctive blue dial and the celebrated Lemania-based Calibre CH 27-70.
Introduced in platinum in 2008, the 5070P represents the final and most exclusive chapter of the Ref. 5070, a collection first launched in 1998 to mark Patek Philippe’s return to the production of a standalone chronograph wristwatch.
The Last Patek Philippe Chronograph with a Lemania-Based Movement
At the heart of the Ref. 5070P is the manually wound Calibre CH 27-70, based on the renowned Lemania 2310 and extensively finished and modified by Patek Philippe.
The Ref. 5070 was the last standalone Patek Philippe chronograph powered by a Lemania-based calibre. Its successor, the Ref. 5170, introduced Patek Philippe’s own in-house manually wound chronograph movement.
This important transition in the manufacture’s history has made the 5070 particularly significant among collectors of modern Patek Philippe.
Platinum Case & Blue Dial
The 5070P-001 is distinguished by its 42mm platinum case and striking blue dial with applied Arabic numerals.
Its classical two-register chronograph layout features a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock, complemented by an outer tachymeter scale.
The combination of platinum, blue dial and Lemania-based movement makes the 5070P one of the most distinctive configurations within the Ref. 5070 family.
