Panerai PAM00350 Lo Scienziato Radiomir Tourbillon GMT Ceramica
The Panerai PAM00350 Lo Scienziato Radiomir Tourbillon GMT Ceramica is one of the manufacture’s most technically ambitious Radiomir creations. Introduced as a 2010 Special Edition and limited to just 150 pieces, the PAM00350 combines a 48mm ceramic case with a fully skeletonised manufacture movement, GMT function, six-day power reserve and Panerai’s distinctive patented tourbillon architecture.
At its heart is the manually wound Panerai P.2005/S calibre, comprising 277 components and 31 jewels. Three spring barrels provide an extended six-day power reserve, while the openworked construction exposes much of the movement from both the front and sapphire crystal caseback.
Unlike a conventional tourbillon, Panerai’s tourbillon cage rotates on an axis perpendicular to that of the balance and completes two rotations per minute, rather than the traditional one rotation every 60 seconds. Panerai developed this unusual architecture to improve compensation for the effects of gravity while creating a tourbillon visually distinct from more traditional constructions.
The skeletonised construction also means that the PAM00350 has no conventional dial. Instead, the Arabic numerals and hour markers are positioned on the flange surrounding the exposed movement, allowing the P.2005/S calibre and its mechanical architecture to become the visual centrepiece of the watch.
Beyond the tourbillon, the PAM00350 incorporates GMT, day/night indication, small seconds and power-reserve indication, making it one of the more complicated Panerai references of its era. Sotheby’s similarly describes the PAM00350 as one of Panerai’s most complicated timepieces.

The PAM00350 represents a particularly technical chapter in modern Panerai. Produced in only 150 pieces, it combines a ceramic Radiomir case with the manufacture’s skeletonised P.2005/S calibre, patented tourbillon construction, GMT functionality and an unusually long six-day power reserve.
Its significance lies not simply in rarity, but in how clearly the watch showcases Panerai’s movement engineering. With no conventional dial obscuring the mechanism, the tourbillon, gear train and skeletonised architecture become integral to the visual identity of the watch.
